WebAug 23, 2015 · The film movement Cinéma du Look started in the 1980s. The genre was labeled by Raphaël Bassan in his article, Trois néo-baroques français, from the 1989 issue of La Revue du Cinéma. This genre broke from French tradition, which focused on the higher class or the bourgeoisie.
